About the Author

While Suzanne S. Johnson began writing poetry at age 7 and earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Belmont University, “Forty Lives” is her first published novella.  Born in Dallas, TX, Suzanne grew up in Shreveport, LA where she developed an intense love for LSU football, delicious food, and diverse music.

Suzanne’s interest in music led her to Nashville, TN where she attended Belmont.  Working for a record company and an accounting firm were steps that ultimately led her to a career as a computer programmer/database developer.  She owns a consulting firm and develops database applications for several clients.  However, writing and music have always been at the center of her life.

Primarily a poet, Suzanne woke up in the middle of the night with the idea for a work of fiction – “Forty Lives”.  Several hours later, the main storyline was firmly developed in her mind.  A year later, the book was completed as she juggled family, work, and her creative pursuits.

Suzanne has two grown stepchildren (Kasie and Ryan), two younger boys (Daniel and Ethan), and precious grandchildren.  Life is full, and it is from this abundance of blessings that she writes from her heart.  She is currently working on a book of poetry that expresses her continuing journey of faith.
